Stay with me here, I know there’s been a lot of looking inside purses lately, but this one is perfect for summer, so I had to do it. I’m actually headed to the pool today, like I’m supposed to be walking out the door rightthissecond and I wanted to show you what I carry with me because I’m curious what YOU carry to the pool or beach. Ready?

- great big beach towel from Costco
- cell phone
- $10 for snacks
- silver hoop earrings to make me gorgeous
- iPod
- Skullcandy headphones {speaker swag from EVO, bless them}
- ALDO sunglasses
- hair elastics {always, always, always}
- lip-gloss {ditto the always}

- three kinds of sunscreen
- granola bars & raisins for snacks
- trucker hat to keep off the sun {I know no one wears them anymore, but I don’t care}
- People Magazine {bless the trash that keeps me sane}
- Lands’ End swag bag from Mom 2.0 is my actual pool bag

- swimsuit cover up
- Reef sandals {I LIVE in these in the summer}

Do you carry this much awesome when you go to the pool?

You are one of THOSE people that gets to relax, read and look glamorous at the pool. Lucky…
We have that same Neutrogena sunscreen, plus all the trimmings and trappings of small children and babies which means NOTHING GOOD TO READ.
Well, I don’t know about looking glamorous but my kids are old enough to play in the water without me WHICH IS A WHOLE NEW WORLD of heaven. Heaven.
I also live in Reef flip-flops, but I live in Florida so I practically wear them everyday, minus when I am at work. In my beach/pool bag I have 3 kinds of sunscreen, 3 pairs of sunglasses, snacks, several towels (I have 3 year old twins), nothing to read as I have to watch them like a hawk still.
Carey,
This is the first year I’ve done any reading, and it’s still two sentences at a time, but I’m getting there.
3 types of sunscreen & 3 pairs of sunglasses, that’s my kind of girl!
We’re lucky because our pool is in our backyard. When we do go to our community pool (it’s a waterpark! I know, so lucky), I take exponentially more than you do. I think I might be a pack-mule: four towels (one for everyone), my cover-up, girls’ cover-ups, 2 sunscreens, lip gloss, phone, camera, water and juice boxes, snacks, goggles for one kid, my sunglasses, and extra ponytail holders. The amount of stuff I schlep to the pool is another reason I’m glad we don’t have to travel to go swimming-geez!
I’m trying not to hate you for the pool in your backyard. {still trying}
The weight of my pool bag is working my arms so I don’t feel quite like a frump in my swimming suit!
I’m loving that you called it hair elastics! I always get made fun of for calling them elastics out here, I’m told it is a Utah thing!
I agree, always a good thing, and always a must with the Diet Dr. Pep!
Is that a Utah thing? What does everyone else call them, hair ties/
Nope, elastics for sure.
