book pick: the creative family.

I’ve had my eye on this book for a while and was delighted when I found it on the shelf {miracle of miracles!} at the library last week. Amanda Blake Soule, crafty mama and blogger {Soule Mama} wrote the book, The Creative Family: How to Encourage Imagination and Nurture Family Connections, to help the rest of us {and our families} figure out how to get in touch with our crafty selves.

I’ve always been crafty, but I have to copy patterns and projects that other people have done, {*ahem* Martha} as my brain just doesn’t come up with this stuff on its own. Amanda has got to be one of the craftiest, most original mamas out there, and she’s raising a trio of extremely creative kiddos as a result.

I adore the book. The patterns are simple {we’ll see, I haven’t actually attempted anything yet} and her ideas for everyday artistry are simple, beautiful, and practical. Way to go Amanda, I love it!
