wood toys

My friend Amy has an amazing business called Little Alouette.  She and her husband make the most beautiful hand crafted, homemade wood toys you’ve ever seen.

Gorgeous things.

If ever I were to lament the fact that there weren’t such cool things around when my babies were small, now would be that time.

That’s the sound of me lamenting.

Little Alouette put gift cards in the SocialLuxe Lounge gift bags, and when I went to unwrap the package in New York, Amy had packed this little owl just for me.  Can you handle it?  I can’t.

He’s positioned very nicely between on my bookshelf next to my children’s baby photos, which is where he’s going to stay forever and ever.  And ever.  Amen.

I thought it would be adorable just on a shelf as art like you have it. I love birds and abstract art and this just fits the bill for both!

Sooo….. complete side note, did I miss the announcement of the chocolate gift basket? I love this site about as much as I love chocolate, which is saying something! Needless to say, I’ve been visiting the site twice daily since the contest ended to see if there is an update. Call me excited.

Isn’t it great? It’s a toy and art!

I love you right back Amy, and I wasn’t joking. This owl has prominence on my bookshelves.

A simple wooden rattle was the first baby gift my husband and I received. It was a gift from my fertility doctor the day he told us our baby was in fact going to make it. We got a lot of special toys and such from friends and family, but I remember that plain little wooded rattle above all.

What a sweet gift. And what a great doctor.
