So, remember how I’m speaking at Alt, a design conference in SLC? Well, my panel is all about how to find the best, most inspirational, wonderful, tickle-your-fancy, design blogs out there. And I need your help.

So if you’d be so kind would you tell me where you go online to get inspired?

What are your favorite design blogs?

Allison

Hello there! I'm Allison Czarnecki, founder + editor of Petit Elefant, a blog all about style on a budget for every part of your life: style / home / travel / family. I do a lot of how-to beauty + style tutorials, travel posts, easy recipes, home remodel projects, and cool DIY crafts you totally want to try. I'm super happily married (to a hot Polish immigrant) and am the mother of two kids, a daughter and son, all of whom are featured here on the regular. We live in the country but we're a little bit rock + roll. Welcome!

A list straight from my google reader:

    ambrosiagirl.com
    bethcrabtreehunter.blogspot.com
    blog.urbangrace.com
    dandeedesigns.blogspot.com
    elizabethkartchner.blogspot.com
    decor8blog.com
    designmom.com
    designspongeonline.com
    doorsixteen.com
    goodlifeforless.blogspot.com
    howaboutorange.blogspot.com
    isuwanee.com
    loveitalot.com
    melissaesplin.com
    mrspottsthoughts.blogspot.com
    ohdeedoh.com
    sayyestohoboken.com
    stephmodo.com
    thecoterieblog.com
    thesefavoritethings.blogspot.com
    wideopenspaces.squarespace.com
    youaremyfave.com
    younghouselove.com

A lot of these are more of what I would consider "product blogs" – featuring great products, but they have a strong emphasis on form over function (products with great design) so I would also classify them as design blogs.

Good luck and congratulations on being a speaker at the summit! I so wish I was going to be in Utah for it.

  4. Marcy of The Glamorous Life Association :

You know I just redesigned my site. And I made some changes that…were difficult. I have decided to drop all my advertisers (not renew actually) and I have one left in contract. I did this because it felt crowded and junky and like a tabloid paper.

So I put all my fancy buttons IN MY HEADER. And that is IT.

I am so so proud of the result. Come see if you want. Still vintage housewify. But clean…and importantly I think a good design should not detract from the content of the blog…AND SO MANY DO. I am sure you agree right?

Have fun presenting/speaking. Love this topic. Obviously. :)
