tween fashion on Hollywood Boulevard

I’m a day late, a dollar short, the house is messy, and my father-in-law is still in town.

I can’t win today.

However, I do have a cute photo of Precocious’ outfit to bide you over.

We were in L.A. last week? The week before? I don’t know. We were in L.A. at some point this month for an event with Jennifer Garner that I’ll post about as soon as the swelling in my hands goes down.

Not even kidding a little on that one.

We walked a little bit on Hollywood Boulevard, just as long as it took to find a drugstore with a cold diet Dr Pepper and a nail salon for a cheap-o pedicure, and I got some cute shots of Precocious’ outfit. We’re in the tricky stage of “not a kid, not a teen” with style, so I’ll be posting photos of her outfits now and again, so you can navigate the tricky waters with me.

This is one of my more favorite outfits she’s put together, minus the white Hanes sports socks, which were a deliberate decision on her part in an effort to keep blisters at bay.

Top: Polarn O. Pyret

Jeans: GAP Skinny Jeans

Shoes: Purple Ballet Flats, T.J. Maxx

Hair Accessory: Forever 21

The Hobo bag is obviously mine, it’s bigger than her torso, and what tween needs a bag that big? Not mine.

Cute outfit during a very tough age. I remember: IOU sweatshirts, pegged jeans, thick scrunch socks, Eastlands with little sailor knots on the laces.

2 Allison January 31, 2011 at 12:31 pm

Oh, Eastland, I forgot about you!

I remember that age, and oh yes the Eastlands. I almost forgot about those, too! Have you seen the little socks made to wear with flats? They are perfect to use for occasions where you’ll be walking a lot. I’ve seen them at payless and target but, I’m sure you can find them at most places that sell shoes. :)

Yes, we’re all over those socks, we just didn’t have time to pack inbetween trips. It was definitely a living out of suitcases fashion moment.

I have been there. She looks adorable and definitely age appropriate. That is a really tough age, especially for fashion. :)

Oh my goodness she’s darling! I’m with Gina, I love socks for flats. :) Or just non white socks. :)

Thank you!

I love the outfit, even with the Hanes socks! Perhaps she’ll start a new fashion trend!

Listen, she’s not above it. :)

She misses you too, if it’s any consolation.

I think she really works those socks. And I covet the shoes like a sinful coveter.

It’s okay to covet them, they’re adorable.

So cute!
Band Aid makes a blister block product that I love. It looks like a mini stick of deodorent and I use the heck out of it in the summers. Maybe that will help with the white socks ;)
