I had some decent luck thrifting this week. In fact, writing this post is making me itchy to get out the door and go find something, anything, fabulous.
Check out these melamine school lunch trays. I think these babies literally came from my elementary school – flashback city. Viktor was skeptical but the kids are in love with them, refusing to eat dinner on anything else. I mean, there’s a place for your cutlery for Pete’s sake!
Also, now don’t scoff, these adorable letters. They’re still floating around boutiques for $6+ a piece and there was a whole bag at Savers for $2.99. I tried to put them down a couple of times but they wanted to come home with me.
I’ll let you know what I decide to do with them, but for now what do you think of this?

I should have just said ‘BOO BILLS’. Amen.
But my favorite? Aside from matching lunch trays for a family of four?
Check out this awesome clock. $3.99. Nope, you can’t have it. It’s already very happy above my desk.

what?!! thrift stores around here are not that great these days – for some reason they got very overpriced and not enough rare items. boo!!!
heading off to dallas tomorrow for FIVE weeks – I'll have to try my luck there! :)
Laura,
I dig, and dig, and dig. And I go once a week and spend, you know, grocery money. ;)
Erin,
I honestly get a little adrenaline rush, how sad is that?
The clock? Loooooove!
I'm loving those trays and the letters and the clock! I love the feeling I get when thrifting and I find something fabulous. It's addicting!
Fabulous finds! Savers? I'm headed there on Monday with an old changing table. And then I'm going inside with my coupon as a reward to myself for finally getting the last item out of our old house! Woo!
JEALOUS! I went thrifting today but my favorite place has been winnowing down their displays in anticipation of the holidays. They are closing all day Monday to get set up so you know where I'll be Tuesday. I got some lunch trays from the thrift store a year ago(but mine are plastic) and my kids ONLY eat off of them. In one compartment it says hot food, in another, cood drink nd where the silverware is supposed to go there's an outline of a fork. We don't have a lot of BIG thrift shops but it sounds like you do – I'd go mad with excitement!

Love them all! We might have to start a help group TA fro Thrifters Anonymous. You and I have an addiction. And it's so fun!
Breeders,
Ooh, your trays sound cooler than mine! But isn't it cool how much the kids love them? Like they're programmed early or something.
Kami,
I'll join, but only as long as I get to keep on thrifting.
Dude! I just got some school lunch trays too! Mine are metal and from when my parents were in grade school. I picked up all that they had and can't wait to use them for a barbecue next summer. Great minds man…
Miranda,
Oh you totally schooled me! I would die if I found some of those. Good job woman.
I am drooling!!! Awesome finds!!
Heather,
Thank you! It makes me happy just looking at them….
Pleaseeeeeee! When are we going and which DI? Do you want to try the AF one? How's Wednesday morning while L's at preschool?
I adore the red clock! Retro, wonderful, fabulous :)
