3 pieces for a great summer outfit.

by Allison on March 10, 2010 in Style, Women's Fashion · 13 comments

I love Spring and Summer fashion more than any other. Well, that’s not strictly true as Fall fashion is killer. But that’s neither here nor there. Spring is upon us and I’m totally excited about what I found browsing Old Navy last night.

I could wear this outfit all summer long. I probably will, in fact. This version of the Maxi dress makes anybody look like a rock star, and is so comfortable.

Would you wear it? What’s your Summer uniform? Shorts and a tee? Swimsuit and cover up? Come on, you can tell me.

I adore those shoes but ….Just too tall for shoes that high every day :) But I love 'em. totally do.

Usually a tube top and stillettos. But that's only when I go out in public.

Normally I wear shorts, a cute-ish top and flips every day in the summer but this year I'm going to be daring and try to wear more skirts, like the Foldover Jersey skirt from Oldnavy. I just ordered one and it's so comfy!

I'm actually excited for a wardrobe made out of that exact type of dress this summer! I was browsing at Old Navy the other day and it made me excited for warm weather and soft jersey-knit dresses. I'm going to be second-trimester this summer but I'm thinking I can probably get away with buying these dresses in regular sizes – although they cost the same in maternity, so we'll see what the fit difference is – and be a fashionable&comfortable; pregnant momma this summer, and then just a fashionable momma again next summer! :D

I think I could live in that dress and the price is fabulous. I usually wear capris, a cute top, and flip flops in the summer.

I always struggle with Maxi dresses not being quite low enough to give me a waist and then therefore making my extra tall self looking kind of all one big flowy size – the size being the very widest part of my hips!

Crazy Suburban,

Isn't it cute, the dress? The shoes I think will be for fancy parties, not for everyday in the garden.

Camille,

You. Slay. Me. Is the tube top sparkly?

Lisa,

Oh, skirts save the day in the summer, they're so cool. Literally!

Lorchic,

You can totally buy them in regular and recycle next summer, just wear a belt! Love.

Julie,

I think I will live in it. $20? For all summer? Get one in each color and alternate, no one will ever know….

NestBliss,

Maxi's can be tricky, but I'm usually so hot by July I don't care where the seam hits. My maxi from last summer was SO long, I think it just depends what length you go with!

I'll wear whatever Snooki wears.

Oh, you're killing me. I'm so ready for the sun!! I'm ready to wear my Croc flips. I could wear them naked and be good to go all summer long!!

I'm sadly too short for a maxi dress. plus the whole sleeves issue makes them tricky. but oh how i like them. especially hot pink.

What about the short girls of the world? We can't wear the long dresses the rest of you supermodels can wear…what would you suggest?
Your shortest sister.

Love the Maxi dress! Especially in that fresh coral color. Last year I wore a brown one from Target so much that it literally fell apart. Can't do the wedges, but I love a Maxi and ballet flats.
