I’ve mentioned before how much I love Pinterest. My fancy new trick on how to clean hard water stains came from Pinterest.

It’s honestly a site I spend a lot of time using to find ideas for everything from cleaning tips to fashion trends. It’s basically a visual bookmarking of everything awesome on the internet, and I’m completely addicted.

So, how do you navigate Pinterest? Well, it’s super easy and I’m here to help.

You guys totally overwhelmed me with your interest. I thought I’d have like 2 dozen comments. I’m trying to catch up on invitations now, and when I get caught up, I’ll re-open the comments. Thank you!

~~First of all, you need an invitation. No problem. If you don’t have one and you want in on the love, let me know and I’ll invite you.~~
Create a board. Or seven. I happen to have 26. No, I don’t have a problem, why do you ask?
Follow people. You can follow people using your Twitter or Facebook account, or just follow random people who seem to have really good taste. I’ve actually found a handful of really awesome blogs I didn’t know existed just by following their style boards on Pinterest. That’s what I call a win-win situation.
Pin. Pin, pin, pin away.
Use good pinning manners. By this I mean don’t abuse it. It’s cool to submit your own stuff to Pinterest, that’s the name of the game. Just don’t do it too often, and be sure that for every one time you pin your own stuff, you pin 20 other things. At least. It’s not really so much about self-promotion as it is about discovering and bookmarking a whole bunch of really cool stuff.
Like any other social media space, be nice. Nice people win.

Do you love Pinterst? Do you use it as much as I do? I’ve honestly never found a bookmarking site I use as regularly as Pinterest. I love that there’s a social aspect to it {I love the people!}, and I love how visual it is {I’m a visual learner}. But the thing I love most of all is how much I’m actually using the tips I’m pinning. I’m getting new ideas and inspiration every single day that I’m actually incorporating into my life. I love that.

I LOVE pinterest! The only thing I can’t figure out is how to make an account and not have to sign in with twitter or facebook.

Hmmm. I haven’t tried doing that, since I’m always trying to link up with people I know. Have you emailed their help people to find out? I don’t think it’s possible because it’s a social media tool. But maybe I’m wrong?

I love pinterest and at the moment have 4 tabs of pages up to browse through {I may have a problem}. Love #5, I hate it when I visit a page and its basically that person’s blog. Not all images need to be everywhere.

I love Pinterest, too, but I haven’t been maximizing its potential like you do! I mostly use it for items of visual interest, and sometimes for crochet patterns or crafts I’d like to try. But I haven’t seen any tutorials or tips there… I’m going to search a little more and follow some more people. I’m not really sure how to *find* people to follow…

I have been a Pinterest addict for nearly a year now. I absolutely love it as is evidenced by my currently 100 boards!! My biggest pet peeves though are pins without proper credits and those that aren’t linked properly back to the source. Also for those who asked about unlinking their Facebook or twitter accounts, my account isn’t linked. I’m pretty sure you just need to go into edit profile and unlink your account from there. I use an email address to sign in to Pinterest.

Sorry, for unlinking Facebook and twitter, I should have said:
Click on the drop down menu under your name (top right hand side of page)
Go to preferences
There should then be the option to unlink your twitter or Facebook account.

PS Have already mentally reorganised my bookcases (and there are many!) so that I can do the colour organisation – LOVE IT!! I experiment with different ways all the time and am thinking colour blocks interspersed with author blocks (ie books with the same themed spines) is going to be the way for me!!
