beautiful girls clothes.

I’m a huge fan of Eliza Gran, a fabulous retro clothing company started by an equally fabulous & chic mother {I wrote about it here}. Eliza Gran just launched a new Spring line; just in time for you to stock up on darling dresses & tops for your little style icon.

I'm Allison, founder and editor of Petit Elefant. I run the gamut from granola to glamour and love everything in between. I think the beach is always a good idea, as is Diet Dr. Pepper; on ice. Sometimes I put out the fires and sometimes I start them. Sometimes I really do have it all together. Sometimes my children say otherwise. We just like to keep it real around here.

Pine Cone Hill Sleep Dress.
$78.
{via Layla Grace}.

I have officially found the softest nightgown/dress ever made. Ever. It consists of 95% bamboo {which is not only a renewable resource, but as it turns out is much softer than cotton} and 5% spandex {to give it a little stretch} and is absolutely the perfect length & cut. It’s part of the sleep collection from Layla Grayce, a boutique which has a little bit of everything fabulous and unique for you, your kids, and your home.

kangaroom storage.

There is no little girl on earth I love more dearly than my 8-year-old P. But for the life of her, she doesn’t understand or share my love of organization. She would prefer to step over piles and piles in her room than have it all sorted, labeled, and organized. Lucky for her she has me to intervene and do the organizing for her and I have all sorts of tricks up my sleeve, {well not so much tricks as products} to get her little life on track.

Cue the lights and hallowed music for KangaRoom Storage, a company aimed at {and succeeding on my end} organizing your life & the life of your little ones {or little joey & janes}. KangaRoom offers all sorts of bins, containers, and storage solutions for the everyday life of a mom. Right now I’m struggling with maintaining order in P’s life: juggling school, ballet, soccer, choir, chess club, & play dates which is proving to be no small feat. This organizer is helping, with all the compartments separating the required clothing {ballet slippers/leotard/tights & cleats/shin guards/soccer shorts} for her extracurricular activities. This could even go in … >> find out more…

reusable bags.

I’ve genuinely been working on being eco-conscious, especially in my grocery shopping. I take my reusable bags into the store with me, slapping them down on the conveyor belt with the rest of my loot from the shopping trip. It only took the baggers at my local grocery store a few times of asking, “Do you want me to use these for your groceries?” before they caught on and now it’s a regular thing. Not only do reusable bags typically hold more groceries than plastic bags, I feel so great using them. I have very few plastic bags in my pantry to be recycled, and my children are becoming very environmentally conscious.

Reusable Bags is a company dedicated to selling all things reusable. Grocery & produce bags, lunch sacks, water bottles, & tote bags. Their website is full of all sorts of helpful information pertaining to recycling {and how you can take part in it} and their products are very sturdy and practical. I hope you’ll use their products & incorporate the three R’s {reduce, re-use, and recycle} into your lifestyle, giving you peace of mind about helping the planet.

nui water.

If you’re like me you’ll drink diet coke in front of your kids but forbid them from ever having a sip because of the aspartame/ caffeine/ carbonation. I’m not a big fan of a lot of juice boxes marketed to kids either because the #1 ingredient is almost always sugar, {and heaven knows P gets more than enough of that at school}. What’s the solution for kids who are thirsty for something other than plain old H2O, especially as the warmer months are now upon us? Nui Water.

Purple Power Nui Water.
{$16.99/case of 12}.

Nui is ONLY fruit juice sweetened {with sugar levels similar to milk}, with multi-vitamins, fiber, one full cup of caffeine-free green tea + 9 fruits, calcium, and electrolytes with less than 1% sodium in every bottle.” It’s delicious, my kids love it, and 50% of the profits are donated to charity. You can buy it online here, or find it locally here. Pick some up before the soccer season starts in earnest; I highly recommend it.

organized home.

One of the things I love so much about Spring is a fresh start of cleaning and organizing, {well not so much the cleaning part, but definitely the organizing}. I love purging all the odds and ends acquired over the Fall & Winter and getting ready for Summertime garage sales. I’ve been cleaning out the house one closet and room at a time, squirreling all the superfluous goods found into a small corner of the garage. And when the time is right I’ll have at least two or three garage sales; P will man her own lemonade stand
{she always pockets around $20} C will drink/spill/waste half of P’s lemonade, and I will get rid of a huge chunk of clutter.

Organized Home {a great site full of tips and tricks to aid in household organization} has a yard sale checklist & invaluable tips about getting ready to hold one of your own.

Don’t feel like you have to do it all on your own; Organized Home has compiled a Spring Cleaning Chore Checklist as well as 5 Tips For Spring Cleaning With Your Kids. So print them out and share them with your kids; I’m sure they’ll >> find out more…

handmade craft aprons for kids.

These ultra cute aprons have been a lifesaver for me & at only $12 it’s worth snatching up a few {these are GREAT gifts for showers, birthdays, and Christmas}. I’ve used mine for mealtime, playtime, and messy craft projects. Each apron is custom made, so you can choose from a selection of absolutely darling fabrics for your child. They’re 100% cotton so you can throw the aprons in the wash as often as you need to. Think of all the melted Popsicle messes you can salvage with some of these on hand…

shoe wheel.

Look what I found via the lovely blog Coveiter. It’s a shoe wheel! Not only does it look like a piece of art, it can hold up to 30 pairs of shoes. This could seriously save me some marital strife over closet space in my house. Nicely done.
