Several years ago Victor and I spent a slew of Winter nights making our way through the epic miniseries Band of Brothers. It’s a breathtakingly realistic portrayal of the true story of Easy Company,
“506th Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division, U.S. Army. Drawn from interviews with survivors of Easy Company, as well as soldiers’ journals and letters, BAND OF BROTHERS chronicles the experiences of these young men who knew extraordinary bravery and extraordinary fear.”

I’m watching the series on The History Channel as we speak, where it often runs on patriotic American holidays. Band of Brothers is as horrific as it is beautiful but I enjoy watching it, if only to feel a portion of the heroism and service given to me and my country. Take time this Memorial Day weekend to remember those who’ve gone before and those who continue to protect freedom all across the globe.

I think Band of Brothers might be one of the best things that has ever been produced for TV; it’s amazing. I cry, gasp, and am enthralled every time I watch it.
I LOVE Band of Brothers. I read the book first because I don’t watch rated R movies, but then I caved and had to watch it…and then we bought it. It’s absolutely the best series I’ve ever seen. It makes me cry and feel grateful every time I see it. I think Dick Winters is my hero.
B is fascinated with WWII history, and really loves Band of Brothers. He’s watched it several times. It’s too painful (as is most WWII cinema) for me to watch over and over but the story is really amazing. Flying our flag today.
