There aren’t enough words in the English language to adequately encompass the range of voodoo that has been my week.

Voodoo hoodoo.

doctors office

Picture the Twilight Zone, especially the freaky music part.  Now throw in a family, a bunch of really important back-to-back deadlines for work, Valentine’s Day with 50+ cards and treats for kids, assorted school projects, a couple of reluctant trips to the gym, 4 stops at the pharmacy, two late night visits to the doctor, and one shellac manicure.

What you’ve got there is a pretttty fancy week on your hands.

Fancy, I say.

valentine

Handmade Valentines.

marriage

An ode to my Valentine.

shellac

OH MY GOSH what have I been missing all this time? Shellac is my new best lover.  I don’t know if I can ever go back to the dark side.

high fever

What? A fever of 105.1 is for sissies.

I heard one time my brother’s-friend’s-sister’s-mom’s-aunt’s-uncle’s-little sister had a fever of 107 and she totally didn’t lose annnny brain cells.

And! One diagnosis of Pneumonia for my baby.

Boom goes the dynamite.

Awful. I hope next week is better.

I have a friend whose cousin (seriously) is in the hospital with leukemia right now. His temperature last week wouldn’t rate on the thermometer, and after an ice bath and tylenol his temperature came DOWN to 110*. I didn’t even know that was possible without dying.

Emily! 110? That freaks me out, big time.

Seriously underachieving here. My baby only made it up to 104.2 temp (diagnosis: Strep Throat). Maybe I need a shellac too.

Lots of rest and fluids for your little one.

Lisa, let’s get on that already. 104.2!

You need shellac, trust me. Give the baby liquid and get yourself a manicure.

So scary when a baby gets that sick. I hope your little one is on the mend. I’ve had a crazy cuckoo week, too, although you win the Voodoo award (I’m certain you’d pass the crown and sash to the runner-up if you could). On a shared positive note, I LOVE Shellac. My color has been Hollywood (looks like the red you chose!) for nearly a year. : )
