We went to California last week on a family vacation, and naturally we took a lot of family photos while we were there. The only problem? The kids were a nightmare for all the photos. They’re over the fact that mama has a nice Canon camera and don’t want to sit still for even one nice family photo. You want to see?

I want to take this opportunity to announce my retirement from parenthood.
The end.

I'm Allison, founder and editor of Petit Elefant. I run the gamut from granola to glamour and love everything in between. I think the beach is always a good idea, as is Diet Dr. Pepper; on ice. Sometimes I put out the fires and sometimes I start them. Sometimes I really do have it all together. Sometimes my children say otherwise. We just like to keep it real around here.

i haven’t read a blog post that made me laugh this hard in a while! nice. i feel ya.
So glad it made you happy. It was a grumpy moment.
perhaps well behaved children are overrated.
i wish i knew.
Ha! Well. I don’t actually know, but I’ll take the ones I’ve got.
not only the kids, well the kids are cool
the light is horror
The light was actually pretty, but the sun was in fact in their eyes.
Seriously. Not that bad. Try to keep boys from wrestling whenever you want them to sit still. But I love the pics! These are the ones you remember and cherish. And I love your hubby trying to calm the kids down.
See what fun you can have when you add captions.
1. Look Ma, Two fingers! (thank goodness)
2. Put your fingers down before I cut them off
3. Now everyone, smile NICE!
4. Put those hands down before I knock you into the ocean!
5. Are you done YET?
Those captions are perfect! I guess this is what makes sites like Awkward Family Photos worth reading though, right?
Your husband’s deteriorating patience is the BEST PART.
There were other photos, and it didn’t get any better. Hysterical.
I love it! Thank heavens for digital cameras, otherwise I’d never have any good ones!
Seriously, with these Monkeys it would be an entire scrapbook filled to the brim with them making ridiculous faces. sigh.
To get all 3 of my kids looking at ME – the camera – is the hardest task EVER!! I usually take 400 photos per pose!!
