Years ago my mother-in-law gave me a silk scarf she picked up on a business trip to India.  I wanted to show it off, but I was intimidated. I didn’t know how to wear it! Being a plus size woman, I don’t want to be overwhelmed, or add any bulkiness to my frame with a scarf.

Recently I’ve been more adventurous and given a few scarves a try. One of the most important things I’ve realized is having the right scarf makes a huge difference. When it comes to great scarves for plus size women, look for scarves that aren’t bulky. Sheer or lightweight fabrics are ideal.

With spring around the corner, I’m looking at scarves to transition into warmer weather! Below are my four favorite scarves for plus-size women.

1. A floral infinity scarf with lovely, lovely colors.
2. Orange is my favorite color, and this scarf is cashmere silk.
3. Polka dots are always happy, and this blue makes me feel like picnicking!
4. This scarf might look sweet with its pastel yellow, but look a little closer. Those are skulls. Just a pinch of edginess to amp up your look.

Now that you know how to find great scarves for plus size women, be sure to check out my next post where I’ll share flattering ways for plus size women to wear scarves.

As a plus size gal, scarves and cardigans are my safety blanket. I tend to go big and voluminous with my scarves because I don’t want them to look dwarfed compared to my size.
