My baby boy, Charming, turned 6 last week. I have a hard time on my kids’ birthdays. A lot of it stems from the fact that I’d love five kids and I can’t have anymore. Stupid Lupus. Anyway, birthdays make me cry. A lot. This book, On the Day You Were Born, didn’t help matters.
My sister gave it to me at the hospital the day Charming was born. I cried then too.
It’s all about the earth welcoming new life onto the planet. Warmth, the circle of life, birth.
It’s a perfect gift for someone who’s expecting a baby in their lives. Or for new mothers who might not remember why it was a good idea to have kids in the first place.
I read it to Charming every year on his birthday, and it helps make up the difference for all the times he destroys something precious in my life.
Great birthday book.

I have that book! It was a gift to me when my 4 year old was born. I love it too. Thanks for the reminder to pull it out and read!
No! Really? I had never heard of it until my sister gave it to me and I’ve been in love with it since then. LOVE it.
