four seasons hotel houston, texas.

One of the perks of traveling all the time is getting to stay in awesome hotels. I worship staying in hotels. This might have something to do with the fact that growing up we didn’t stay in hotels. Ever.

We were a granola, hippie, tie dye loving, camping family. Which I’ve incorporated into my family life, to an extent, but I love a good hotel. They always have hot showers! And beds!

So, in February I went to Houston for the Mom 2.0 Summit which was held in the Houston Four Seasons hotel. Upon checking in I was presented with a stuffed horse for my children. Sweet right? It’s the little touches that count.

Then we saw the room.

Gorgeous.

We had to book a suite in order to accommodate guests for the Cambria Cove suite we hosted the second day of the conference {we being me and my partner in crime Marie LeBaron}, and you won’t hear me complaining about it. The suite was outstanding.

oh, hotel slippers, aaaah

The bathroom was beautiful. I even had a mini tutorial on the bidet from my friend Jenny the Bloggess, understander of all things bidet/weird related, but I still can’t say I get the appeal. I mean? Well, I won’t go into it.

But the bathrooms were beautiful, bidet and all.

The view wasn’t too shabby either. Our room overlooked the hotel pool & hot tub {which of course I gave a good run} which were beautiful as well. Everything at the Four Seasons is beautiful actually.

Especially the toiletries. I have a bit of a thing about hotel toiletries. I’m obsessed with them. It makes no sense really. I gather them up, bring them home and put them in a cupboard in a special bin just for hotel sized toiletries, and then I pack them when I go on another trip. Wherein I proceed to gather more. But L’Occitane? Seriously good stuff.

One last thing about the Four Seasons Hotel in Houston? Impeccable service. I’ve stayed in some really nice hotels but the service at the Four Seasons was ridiculous in the best way possible. Polite, helpful, kind, accommodating, and prompt.

In a word? Fabulous.

I'm Allison, founder and editor of Petit Elefant. I run the gamut from granola to glamour and love everything in between. I think the beach is always a good idea, as is Diet Dr. Pepper; on ice. Sometimes I put out the fires and sometimes I start them. Sometimes I really do have it all together. Sometimes my children say otherwise. We just like to keep it real around here.

I love the 4 Seasons! We stayed there once for an award my husband won. Anyway, we stayed at the one in Laguana Beach/Dana Pt. Calfifornia. It was spectaculat!

You really can't go wrong with a four seasons! I live around the corner from a Four Seasons Wellness Center–I really need to send myself their for a treat!

Looks fabulous. The bidet topic – well I happen to own one and LOVE it. It is called a TOTO. It is combined into the actual toilet so there is no awkward trying to waddle from one to the other without umm, dripping or worse. And the best part? The seat is heated! It is purely devine especially in the cold winter mornings. I mean everyone has to do "it", so why not be comfortable?

But, how did you like *Houston*?
(I'm a Houstonian, but I think it's a better place to live than to visit)

Dang, that was one intense Mom convention…

It's late, so I can make a random comment.

I love L'Occitane soap. I've never bought it, but it was at a hotel I stayed in in SLC with my husband a few years ago. I used it and thought, "How can this be? Soap in a bar that doesn't leave a gross film on my skin?" I was amazed and took all the extras home with me. I think it's a great to have the stuff to share with guests, or to pamper yourself if it's high end.

What a fabulous hotel! Makes me want to take a weekend and getaway from the ever day stuff! Just thought I would stop by and say Hi! I've been following your blog for a few months and jealous of the conference you've gone to! Wow- reminds me of my college days of going to leadership or convention for my sorority! I usually do not comment — I know shame on me! Now that I'm trying to get back into blogging we all love comments right!?! Anyway, just wanted to tell you I enjoy reading your blog! ;)

My FAVORITE thing about the Four Seasons is the L'Occitane. Awesome.

My husband surprised me with a stay at this hotel when we first moved to Houston. (He won it at an intern casino night. Hooray for innocent gambling!) I haven't met a pillow yet to equal the ones they had there.

I wish you had more time on your trips to Houston! Let me know next time you are coming and I will deliver you some diet Dr. P.
