Washi tape! Have you hopped on board the washi tape bandwagon? I’ll admit I’m a late comer to this fantastic trend, but now I can’t get enough! Who would have thought there would be so many uses and adorable things you can make with these little sticky strips of colored printed paper?
Because I’m so enamored with this cute little tape craft supply, and since Spring is right around the corner, this week’s project is a quick and easy to way to make some cute decorated “eggs” to add to your Easter and springtime decor! Keep reading to see how to make these Washi Tape Egg Decorations:
- Picture Frame – I used 3″ x 5.5″ (You can pick these up at Target for super cheap)
- an X-Acto knife or some other type of cutting blade
- Assorted Washi Tape
- Colored Cardstock
- This Egg Template
Print out the template. Note: this template is sized for a 3″ x 5.5″ frame, so you may need to adjust if you use a bigger or smaller frame. Cut two pieces of card stock to the size of your frame, and cut the egg shape out of one of the pieces. To do this: I cut out the egg from the template, traced it onto the card stock and then cut it out with the X-Acto knife.
Layout the washi tape on one of the egg templates. Stripe it, layer it, mix and match the colors and patterns; the possibilities are endless!
Layer the three pieces and insert it in your frame!
How cute is this washi tape Easter decoration? Hang up your new framed eggs or put them on the mantle along with some Easter grass or, my favorite, jelly beans!
Happy springtime and happy (washi tape) crafting!
