payless shoes.

Is anyone else in love with these shoes from Payless? They’re even on sale for $20 {!!!}. And they fit in perfectly with my current love affair with all things green. Where {and how} do you wear these sassy little hot pink numbers? With jeans? With a shirt dress? Heaven help me, I think I need a pair of hot pink heels. Is that the ’80’s in me coming out? I didn’t think it would come to this. I blame…

fine hair accessories for women.

I’m blessed with rather healthy hair, though it was wrought many a bad hair day in my life. From various stylists I’ve been told my hair is too slippery for styling, too straight to be curled, to wavy to be straightened, my widow’s peak is so severe I must always wear bangs, and that my cowlick is so severe I couldn’t do bangs.  What’s a busy mom to an active toddler to do with such tresses? Two words: hair accessories. I’ve done…

maternity shirts.

Peek-a-Boo Tee. $44. {via 2 Chix}. Maternity clothes have come a loooong way since I was pregnant with P 9 years ago. I was resigned to wearing things like flowered print blousy tops and leggings {eek!} throughout my pregnancy. And with C I wore nothing but a hospital gown and an I.V. pole, so that doesn’t count. 2 Chix Maternity has some pretty cute {figure flattering} tops to choose from for your 40 weeks of misery {bliss, I mean bliss}….

rufflebutt.

When I was three I had a favorite pair of tights. They were ribbed white tights with ruffles on the bum, and they were the cutest things you’ve ever seen. Sometimes I wore them with a dress, sometimes I wore them alone. I held onto them for years and pulled them out from time to time just to see what I was missing. Aqua RuffleButt.$17. When P was born I was determined to find a pair of ruffled something. I…

Cool Mint Body Wash- Pamper Yourself This Summer.

For Valentine’s Day this year, among the many gifts that my husband gave me (it was our first Valentine’s Day so he went all out to make it count) was Tea Tree minty shampoo and conditioner. At the time, I was waking up at 5:30 every morning to commute an hour and a half to work. The minty shampoo and conditioner would wake me up a little more and give me the extra little kick that I needed in the…

handmade purses.

I’ve got a new favorite Etsy shop: 3 C’s Creations. Donna Hansen is a mom of 3 boys who runs a daycare in her home and manages to make adorable purses and clutches on her kitchen table {in-between changing diapers and running her kids to practices}. Her sewing is impeccable and her creations are adorable. I bet she’ll even do custom orders if you ask nicely. My favorite purse in her shop right now is this Amy Butler Medium Tote….

exfoliating weleda body scrub.

I’m not exactly the poster child for skin cancer prevention {as I spend the majority of my summer poolside, and love being chocolate brown come fall} but I have been known to dip into the self-tanner once in a while in a pinch. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned about self-tanner, it’s the importance of proper exfoliation prior to its application. Not doing so results in nasty streaks and patches of blotchy tanner {and is completely inadvisable}. Birch Body…

polkadot papoose.

Scarlett Sling.{via Polkadot Papoose}.$64. Slings are nothing new in the history of parenting, but it’s taken the West a bit to get into the swing of things. I wore a baby sling with both C and P and endured the sidelong glances {and o.k. a few *hippie* comments} from the uninitiated. I’m happy to see they’ve taken off in popularity because the benefits of using a sling are abundant. Never mind that getting some laundry done with a happily snoozing…
