Sadly this post isn’t about fashion, but I’ll get to that later, don’t you worry.
A few weeks ago I wandered into the garage looking for all my Fall + Halloween decorations, and would you like to know what happened? I discovered that Viktor had gotten rid of all my decorations. He donated it all stuff to D.I.! {that’s a local thrift store} I wasn’t super happy about that, not one bit, but I took action.
I usually do.

What Viktor didn’t count on is the fact that I’d have to shop to replace it all. One can’t go into the Fall season without a few little touches in the house, can they?
Well maybe One can, but I cannot.

I headed to Michael’s and Joann‘s, using every coupon in my arsenal to refill my stash.

I’m obsessed with all things glass, especially for my mantelpiece, so I just grabbed a few of my more favorite pieces and filled them with fall decor. The cake stand is filled with real white mini pumpkins, which will last well past Thanksgiving. The big glass jar on my coffee table is filled with adorable little gourds in all shapes and sizes, and the wreath I told you about adorns the front door.

This big fat pumpkin {made of I know not} sits in the middle of my mantlepiece among all the glass jars in my house.
What kind of decorator are you? Do you go all out, orange and black all over the house, or you a little more simple like me?
I forget how much I love Fall every year in anticipation of a miserable Winter!
I was on my way to the grocery store today when I got completely sidetracked and ended up at Joann’s instead. I hate it when that happens.
See, my front door was looking lonely and it needed a little sprucing up for fall.

As loath as I am to see the summer end, I really do enjoy fall. Back to school, crunchy leaves, homemade salsa from my garden, school supplies, time alone.
*Ahem*

So I thought it only natural to celebrate with a beautiful fall wreath for the front door. I think it’s rather pretty, don’t you?
Welcome fall!
Some time ago I saw photos online of home libraries organized by color.
Naturally, I assumed people who organize their books by color have an abundance of free time in which to accomplish such a task.

I was wrong.
It’s okay to be wrong once in a while, as long as you own up to your mistakes.

In the space of a very short afternoon I was able to organize all my bookshelves by color.
I mean, I organize my closet by color, and I organize my shoes with photographs.
Why did I think my bookshelves should be exempt?

For someone like me, who’s just the teensiest bit O.C.D., having my books organized by color is Shangri-La. Absolute happiness.
It makes my bookshelves look like they really have their act together, which I appreciate. A good bookshelf is hard to find.
It adds a certain element of decor, and it makes my eyes feel happy when I rest on whole blocks of color at a time.
Have you done anything lately in your home that made your heart sing? Perhaps your dishes are stacked in a spectacular fashion, or your keys are always in the same place. Do share, will you?
