This week is choc-a-bloc full of how-to’s for you. First it was how to dye your hair at home, and now I’m going to show you how to make a banana hanger for the kitchen.
It’s like I can’t even help myself anymore.
I know this is the simplest of simple things, but a banana hanger in your kitchen {if you’re one to eat bananas that is} not only saves space, it saves you from the misery of mushy brown bananas.
Nobody wants that.

One day Viktor just up and created a couple of banana hangers in our kitchen, and I’ve never loved him more.
That’s not true at all. I love him like crazy every day, especially when he makes banana hangers in the kitchen so my daily afternoon snack doesn’t get all nasty on me.

Here’s where it gets all technical {not really}. You need:
- 1 C hook
- 1 S hook
- the bottom of a cabinet

A C-hook is exactly what it sounds like, and you can pick one up at any hardware store for a dollar. An S-hook is the same, a hook that looks like an S that we snagged at IKEA for less than a dollar.

Screw the C-hook into the bottom of your cabinet, hang an S-hook on that, and hang the stems of your bananas on the S-hook. Boom!
If you eat a lot of bananas like we do at our house, hang a couple of hooks so you can reap the benefits of many an unblemished banana in your life.

It’s glorious.
I did this a few months ago and love it. I don’t have the S hook. I just hook the bananas on the cup hook. I’ve even gone so far as to twist a bread tie around a single banana and hook to the cup hook. Love getting things off my countertop. Now, if I could just install a million hooks in my boy’s rooms, maybe their floors would be clean! HA!
Cassie, I knew our brains were synced. It’s pretty marvelous isn’t it? I love the bread tie, that’s fantastic!
Dude! My handsome husband did the exact same thing! It’s in my kitchen right now!
