I'm Allison, founder and editor of Petit Elefant. I run the gamut from granola to glamour and love everything in between. I think the beach is always a good idea, as is Diet Dr. Pepper; on ice. Sometimes I put out the fires and sometimes I start them. Sometimes I really do have it all together. Sometimes my children say otherwise. We just like to keep it real around here.

Pangea Organics.

This facial cream from Pangea Organics is a triple threat: it’s light and silky while being extremely moisturizing, it smells so good it almost overpowers the ever present peanut butter smell which seems to follow me wherever I go, and….it’s completely organic and eco-friendly. Pangea Organics is an award winning body care company dedicated to using only the most natural ingredients while preserving the environment. Even the product packaging is 100% post consumer recycled and is designed to go right back to the earth it came from.

“Taking great care of your skin, means understanding what you put on it. Especially since most of what goes on your body, makes its way into your body. We choose plant-based ingredients that nurture you and nourish your skin. After all, every body deserves it. If it’s in our products, it’s on our labels. We promise. And that’s the beauty of Pangea Organics. Ecocentric Bodycare: Always Beneficial, Never Artificial.”

I’m loving the adorable boutique: Pure and Honest Kids; it’s absolutely brimming with wonderful finds for your babies & children as well as some great finds for you the mommy.

Map of the U.S.A. Sticker Set Play Scene
{via: Pure and Honest Kids}.

The Map of the U.S.A. is perfect for my 8 year-old who is very interested in geography, and needs a little help brushing up on her state facts. This is hours of fun in a slim little package {perfect for your car!} with re-usable stickers so you can keep it forever.

Ballerina Magnet Tin Doll.
$14.

It almost goes without saying that the Ballerina Magnet Tin Doll was an instant favorite. I didn’t hear a peep out of my daughter for an entire hour during church while she played with this toy, and she had to pry it out of the hands of her 3-year-old brother {who has very little discernible gender preference when it comes to her toys}. It is so adorable it makes me want to play ballerina dress-up.

It’s been proven that black & white images boost baby brain development, and Wee Gallery has taken that science to a beautiful place. They have created several adorable collections of flash cards to stimulate your baby’s mind. Your baby will not only become smarter by looking at these, his room will also be infinitely more stylish upon their arrival. Put them in the crib, hang them on the wall, or create a mobile above the changing table; no matter where they go, they’re sure to cause a fuss.

what to cook for dinner ideas.

I recently used a search engine to look for dinner ideas online and serendipitously came across this site. Jane, a mother and graphic designer, has the eye of an artist so not only does she give you dinner ideas for an entire week {bless you Jane!} she also posts beautiful photos of food to keep you inspired. Her menus are far more creative than I can manage on my own and are definitely worth checking out on a regular basis.

il cocco di mamma

Donna, the creator of il cocco di mamma, appreciates diversity in cultures as she grew up in an English and Italian bilingual/bi continental environment. Upon failing to find gifts lovely enough to match her nephew, she created a company with products suitable and smart enough for any prince. The Alphabet Blocks are a perfect example: they come in a variety of languages including Russian, {as shown below}, French, Italian and more. And who’s to say your child can’t look stylish in a pair of Italian Loafers while studying to become fluent in French?

I don’t mean to say I can’t tolerate The Wiggles with the best of them, but at some point a musical change is welcome for the sake of sanity and this CD fits the bill completely. And as someone who resides in a bilingual home {Polish/English} I can appreciate the need for lingual diversity. Who among us doesn’t want their children to speak another language, let alone one as beautiful as Italian? The lyrics of the
